It's important to remember that we all pay taxes, not that you could forget...and because our representatives are paid by our taxes and are in charge of appropriating our tax money I feel that everyone should think of them as our employees. Not that as individuals we have power over them, but we give them money so they do have to answer to us. I also feel that since many things are not being handled in a responsible way we should be contacting them more often than we do and be a much louder voice than ever before. We, the taxpayers, are the managers of the State and we have been slacking off big time. I feel it is time to pay more attention to what is going on in our state. We can not afford to throw up our hands anymore and surrender to apathy, and desensitization of the actions that are being carried out by our representatives.
I feel that in order to inspire change in our state we need to regain our voice, so please call or e-mail your appropriate representative regarding an issue that you are concerned about. Not only is it within your rights, it is your duty as a tax payer to make sure that your hard earned dollars are not being squandered away.
